The European Cooperative
The European Cooperative, also known as Societas Cooperativa Europea (SCE), is a legal entity whose members are based in various EU countries. The founding members of the natureplus Institute SCE are active across Europe and wish to express this commonality through the legal form of their organisation.
The common ground shared by the members lies in scientific analysis, quality testing and the assessment of building products. They first came together in their work for the natureplus association as independent testing institutes responsible for awarding the recognised European natureplus eco-label for building products.
As a European cooperative, we operate in accordance with the German Cooperatives Act. Our executive board is led by two people as co-chairs; we are obliged to build up additional reserves and ensure greater transparency via the register of cooperatives. The cooperative makes operational decisions through its executive bodies (executive board, supervisory board, general meeting).
